I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of
the Admiralty to acquaint you, for the information of
Mr. Secretary Amery, that They consider it undesirable that these Japanese industries should be installed at Hong Kong and that future applications should be refused
on the grounds suggested by the Commander-in-Chief in
paragraph 2 of his letter of 31.12.1927.
2.-
If the scheme for which permission has been
given materialises, My Lords consider that the bona fides
of the personnel working from Hong Kong should receive
attention.
3.-
A copy of this letter has been sent to the
Foreign Office.
I am,
Sir,
Under-Secretary of State,
Colonial Office,
S.W.1.

Your obedient Servant,
Marles Walker
